Bio
Dr. Judith Irvin is the Executive Director of the National Literacy Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving middle and high school literacy.
Additionally, Dr. Irvin is a professor at Florida State University, teaching courses in curriculum, educational leadership, and instructional leadership. She coordinates the doctoral program for the Educational Leadership/Administration concentration area. Her area of expertise is literacy and learning for adolescents.
She has authored numerous books, articles, and chapters on leadership and literacy for adolescents including:

Literacy (with Meltzer and Dukes). (2007). Association for

- Reading and the High School Student: Strategies to Enhance

Dr. Irvin serves as a consultant and speaker to school systems and professional organizations throughout the nation. She served as a member of the Commission on Adolescent Literacy for the International Reading Association and on the Board of the National Middle School Association as Chair of the Research Committee. She taught middle school reading and social studies for eight years.
